Daniel Kordan

I have been fascinated by the possibilities of photography since my early childhood. I grew up at beautiful lake region under Moscow exploring wild nature, spending most of my free time in the nature. I graduated the art painting school when I was a kid. Mix art, nature, constant activities and you’ll receive a summary – art of Landscape photography. Life started swirling me, pushing me into the rush. University, hard work on my quantum physics thesis, family and friends… But there is always a pleasure in the pathless woods: places I always returned and always admired. Nature is my inspiration, with all the beauty and variety of colors and compositions.

Alice Cahill

In my photography I strive to see with the ‘eyes of my heart’ – to find that essential element which speaks to your sense of wonder. I am in love with all of wild Nature – with her colors, designs, moods & her amazing wildlife. I believe Nature is a healing force and a refuge from the chaos of daily life. When we are quiet & listen, we can find peace & discover our own inner voice of wisdom. It is a beautiful but also a fragile world … be gentle.

Jose Ramos

My name is José Ramos and I’m a 32 years old landscape photographer from Portugal. I’ve  developed an increasing interest in photography over the last years, and this passion grew so strong that this was the art I have chosen to express myself, as well as to pay homage to the beauty and power of the planet we inhabit

I’m currently dividing my professional time between working as a doctor (in the psychiatry  field) and photographing, which implies great dedication to be able to develop my skills in both areas. So far this has been possible at the expense of sleeping hours, which could only be bearable through intense passion about both subjects.

Dag Ole Nordhaug

Born and raised in the northern parts of Norway, I was exposed to the great outdoors very early in life. The magic light north of the polar circle with midnight sun and endless summer nights as well as long blue hours and Aurora Borealis during winter had a profound impact on my view on nature and later on my photography.

I got my first camera at the age of nine (a Hanimex 35mm with a fixed 35mm lens, surprisingly good quality!) and I was sold. Surrounded by nature, landscapes became my first subject matter, and have stayed with me ever since. A couple of years later, I had saved enough money to buy my first SLR (A Yashica/Contax with a 35-70 push zoom) and by now I spent all my spare time out shooting. Two years later I converted to Nikon (the spectacular FA!).

Sophie Carr

I am a freelance photographer based in Parsons Green, London (SW6). I’ve travelled extensively and particularly love icy, mountainous and volcanic areas, such as Chile and Iceland, so travel and landscape photography are my main passion. I visit Iceland twice a year and am seriously obsessed with the place, where weather plays such a massive part in day-to-day life (and photography). I also love to capture images of cities, including my home-town, London, and the people (and dogs!) that inhabit the city. I also work as an accountant in the banking industry.

My work has been featured in various UK publications, including travel magazines Wanderlust & Real Travel, The Times newspaper, as well as the National Geographic Traveler magazine (US edition) and the Wall Street Journal. Commercial clients have included Canon USA (via ImageBrief), Airbnb and Backroads Touring. My work has been shortlisted in the TPOTY and the Wanderlust Travel Photo of the Year competitions.

Patrick Smith

I enjoy landscape photography and creating other works of art. I seek to witness everything that is splendid in the landscape and bring it back for all to see. I go to great lengths to be in the right place at the right time to capture nature’s finest moments. I live in the San Francisco area and travel up and down the California coast and elsewhere looking for natural beauty that will inspire people to protect and save our precious natural landscape and seascape.

I also created the world’s largest blood specimen bank and wrote software to store, retrieve and link the specimens to large public databases. In addition, I wrote a science fiction series about our future as a species.

Linda Bembridge

I am lucky enough to be able to balance a fulfilling career encompassing creativity in words and numbers with a passion focusing on the artistic and abstract. My photography provides the counterweight in my life and, without it, everything would be less colorful as a result.

There are many excellent photographers who are able to portray a scene in its literal form. This is not something I strive to do. I am much more interested in portraying an interpretation leaving plenty of room for the imagination. In pursuit of this, many of my images, particularly more recent images are blurred. I subscribe to the view of Henri Cartier-Bresson that “Sharpness is a bourgeois concept”.

While am predominantly a digital worker I have also started to branch out into the analogue world and find myself at the base of a very steep learning curve as I strive to produce prints in the ‘dim room’ by way of alternative processes such as the Cyanotype process, and ultimately in the dark room. Early days but incredibly exciting. Wish me luck!

Early on in my photographic journey I was lucky enough to be introduced to the ‘United Photographic Portfolio’ organization (UPP for short). Through this organization I have met a wide range of incredible photographers of all genres across the country and beyond. I would cite my membership of this organization as having the biggest influence on my photography to date.

Mitch Dobrowner

Growing up on Long Island (Bethpage), NY – I felt lost in my late teens. Worried about my future direction in life, my father gave me an old Argus rangefinder to fool around with. Little did he realize what an important gesture that would turn out to be for me. After doing some research and seeing the images of Minor White and Ansel Adams I quickly became addicted to photography.

To make a long story short, I left home at 21, quitting my job, leaving my friends and family to see the American Southwest for myself. In California I eventually met my wife, and together we had 3 children, and created our own design studio – and the tasks of running a business and raising a family took a priority to Photography. During that time I stopped taking pictures.
